Exchange Traded Funds
Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are mutual investment funds that are traded on a stock exchange. Saxo Capital Markets offers a wide range of Exchange Traded Funds:
Most ETFs available today are Index-tracking, investing in a specific portfolio of securities following a:
- stock or bond index
- specific industry or regional sector
ETFs offer a broad and diversified exposure to an array of securities making them ideal for diversifying your investment portfolio.
Due to the passive nature of index-tracking ETFs, management expenses are low; the costs associated with trading passive ETFs are typically lower than for actively managed funds and most mutual funds. Spreads at which passive ETFs are traded are also normally tight.
Saxo Capital Markets has selected a broad range of Exchanged Traded Funds from a variety of providers covering global capital markets.
Important changes to Equities and Futures Products
Starting 1 August 2008, Saxo Capital Markets will make a number of changes to its equities and futures products to reflect changes in the underlying market. Detailed descriptions to each of these changes can be found here.
Clients are encouraged to read about these changes and to contact their account manager if necessary.
Fees
The following fees apply to investments in passively managed ETFs:
- Bid/Ask spread - Fund units are bought and sold on a spread between the Bid and Ask price as the market dictates.
- Management Fee - An annual management fee is charged for each fund, as described in the data sheet for the fund.
- Depository Fee - Saxo Capital Markets does not charge an annual depository fee for ETFs

For Singapore ETFs, a Clearing Fee of 0.04% is payable, subject to a maximum of SGD 600/ USD 600.
Market Data
By default, clients have access to delayed market data on the equities (including ETCs) and futures exchanges on which they are enabled to trade. To receive real-time market data, clients will have to subscribe to the individual exchanges. Please visit the Exchange Agreements page for more information.
