Market Strategist: Antero Atilla

Background

Owing to a bi-national family background, Antero Atilla was raised in both Finland and Turkey and moved to the US upon completion of his high school degree. In the US, Antero completed a Master of Science degree in Business Economics at Pace University, New York City.

Prior to joining Saxo, Antero was with American Express where he worked as a corporate credit analyst. He has also lectured in strategic management models at Berkeley College, NYC and worked as a research fellow at Mises Institute, Auburn.

At Saxo Bank, Antero works as an emerging markets analyst, covering economic activity and currencies of a select group of emerging market economies in addition to taking part in the Strategy Team’s regular market reports and updates.

Trading Style

In generating currency spot and currency options trading recommendations on emerging market currencies, Antero utilizes fundamental economic analysis, coupled with technical tools of currency valuation. In the former approach, his main focus is on de-homogenizing the emerging markets and gauging the comparative strengths and weaknesses of each emerging economies and respective currencies. Some of Antero’s popular means of valuation focus on such fundamentals as FDI in- and outflows, national payment balances and intra-emerging markets interest rate differentials.
